Sumner County VINE Arrest Coverage
Tennessee runs VINE through the TN SAVIN program. The Tennessee Sheriffs' Association TN SAVIN program covers all 95 county sheriffs across the state. That gives Sumner County a direct alert path. Search VINELink by name or booking number. Once matched, you can register for notices. Notices cover release, transfer, or escape, depending on the data each agency feeds the system.
VINE is not a booking-photo roster. For current inmate cards and booking images, use the Sumner Sheriff roster. That page shows who sits in the jail right now. VINE instead tracks one named person's custody events. The VINELink Tennessee entry screen is the statewide search point.

The interface may require JavaScript, and its result timing depends on source data.
Check a Sumner Arrest on VINELink
Start with the person's exact legal name. Add the jail's booking number too. A name-only search often returns several people with similar identifiers, so compare each result carefully before selecting one. A nickname, a spelling variation, or a booking just entered can block the match.
- Open VINELink and choose Tennessee.
- Select the relevant offender or custody search.
- Enter the exact name or booking number available from Sumner County Jail.
- Review possible matches and compare the facility, identifier, and custody details.
- Open the correct record and choose the notification option when available.
- Confirm a doubtful or urgent result with the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff's main number is (615) 452-2616. Someone still in transit or intake may not appear on the roster or VINE yet. No result does not mean no arrest. For same-day bookings, the Arrested Today page is the practical fallback.
What VINE Shows After Arrest
VINE centers on custody data and alerts, not mugshots. Fields vary by record and screen. What matters is confirming which person and which facility the result actually points to. With several matches, a booking or offender number beats a name.
| Information | Purpose | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Name and identifier | Distinguish possible matches | Spelling or source-data issues can affect results |
| Custody status | Indicate whether the person is held or has changed status | May lag the source event |
| Facility or agency | Identify the responsible custody system | Transfer can change the listed location |
| Event type | Describe release, transfer, or another custody change | Not a court disposition |
| Notification options | Allow registration by supported contact method | Delivery is not guaranteed to be instantaneous |
VINELink never replaces the Sumner booking record. The sheriff roster holds booking time, charge lines, bond, inmate ID, and the public photo when shown. Court outcomes belong to the Sumner online court system. Certified or historical records come from the records custodian.
Register for Sumner Custody Alerts
Tennessee SAVIN allows alerts by phone or email. Telephone alerts run on a four-digit PIN. Operators staff the line around the clock at (888) 868-4631, with Spanish and interpreter support. Keep the PIN private and choose a contact method you can actually monitor.
- Open the correct Tennessee custody record.
- Choose “Get Notified” or the comparable registration control.
- Select the available phone, email, text, app, or accessibility method.
- Enter contact information carefully.
- Create the four-digit PIN when registering for telephone notices.
- Save the record details and update contact information if it changes.
The VINELink notification interface illustrates the registration stage.

No real personal contact information should be entered merely to test the interface.
Never rely on a single alert for urgent safety decisions. Confirm custody details directly with the agency holding the person.
Tennessee SAVIN Covers Every Sheriff
Statewide coverage is the key local fact. The Tennessee Sheriffs' Association says all 95 sheriffs take part in the county-jail system. Sumner users can go straight to the Tennessee interface. No separate county-branded VINE site exists to hunt down. The service tracks one named person and custody events rather than a browsable list of everyone arrested. The TN SAVIN participation and instruction page carries the program details.

Statewide coverage confirms Sumner's participation, but no county-specific feed timing is published. No Sumner figure promises a fifteen-minute lag. The same goes for hourly or weekend timing. Don't borrow another county's timing claim. A recent arrest may hit the sheriff roster first, reach VINE later, or need a direct call to confirm.
VINE Courts Versus Jail Alerts
Tennessee VINE Courts is a separate court-notification program. It sends phone, text, email, in-app, or TTY notices about case status and upcoming hearing details. Registration by phone uses a four-digit PIN too. The state says calls may repeat at least every 24 hours until the PIN is entered or the registration ends.
That service proves nothing about the Sumner County Jail. A hearing can happen after release, and custody can shift while the case stays open. Use county-jail VINE for custody events, VINE Courts for hearing notices, and the Sumner court portal for the docket. The VINE Courts information screen explains the court side.

Court alerts and jail alerts answer related but different questions.
VINE Limits for Sumner Arrests
VINE is not a full arrest-history database. It may lack a booking photo, the police narrative, every charge update, bond detail, final disposition, or permanent historical access. Data can lag a fresh booking. A release alert tells you a custody event happened. It never says why or how the case ended.
The system also skips federal and immigration custody. The Federal Bureau of Prisons Inmate Locator covers federal inmates from 1982 onward and shows no booking-photo gallery. A new federal pretrial detainee may not appear there yet. The ICE Online Detainee Locator is separate and needs an A-number plus country of birth or exact biographical data. DHS-VINE handles immigration alerts apart from Tennessee SAVIN.
| Custody system | Correct source | Not interchangeable with |
|---|---|---|
| Sumner County Jail | Sumner roster and Tennessee SAVIN | TDOC, BOP, or ICE |
| State felony custody | TDOC FOIL and Victim Services | New county bookings |
| Federal prison | BOP locator | County jail VINE |
| Immigration detention | ICE locator or DHS-VINE | Tennessee county custody |
TDOC VINE and State Custody
Some people leave Sumner County Jail for state prison. A sentence can land them in the Tennessee Department of Correction system. VINE then works differently. TDOC Victim Services lets you search by name or TDOC number. Open a record's details, or sign up for notifications. The FOIL search goes further. It shows whether a person is in state custody or supervision now or was before, plus location, offense, sentence, parole, and release details.
FOIL is not a county arrest feed, though. A pretrial booking at Sumner Jail alone won't put anyone in it. And a state hit doesn't prove the person sits in Sumner custody right now. Even the state ID photo may differ from the county booking photograph.
Older state records take another path. TDOC offers an archived-record request. It digs into identity and TOMIS details and may carry fees. That route serves history, not a fresh Sumner mugshot or a same-day custody check.
Verify a Missing VINE Result
Start with the name and booking number. Confirm both are exact. Next, search the current Sumner roster for the arrest. If a very recent arrest still shows nothing, call the arresting agency or the Sheriff's Office, since transport and intake take time. Hendersonville, Gallatin, and Portland Police each keep their own city arrest report, and the county jail holds the county booking record.
For an older or released record, file a Sumner County public-records request with the name, date range, inmate ID, and agency. Turn to the court portal for the case itself. VINE tracks custody status only, sourced from official feeds.
Note: VINE answers who is in custody; the courts decide everything that follows.
